  • Glen Dake

    Glen is a leader in developing community-designed natural spaces in Southern California. His design work includes the Keck Ocean Atmosphere Science Center at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Sleepy Lagoon Memorial at Maywood Riverfront Park, a groundbreaking program to infiltrate an average of 1,800 acre-feet of stormwater each year to the San Fernando Valley groundwater basin, and many neighborhood parks. He is a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor and QSD/QSP Certified.

    He helped found the LA Community Garden Council in 1998, and led a team to acquire land and build a series of community gardens in Echo Park, East Hollywood, East LA, Vermont Square and Watts. Glen is currently overseeing the development of multiple underground stormwater capture facilities and recreation improvements at parks across Los Angeles County, along with improvements to the Yvonne B. Burke Sports Complex. Glen holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University.

  • Jesse De La Cruz

    Jesse is a Community Outreach expert with ten years of experience working with a diversity of communities to build environmental justice and develop community assets. He earned a Bachelor’s degree at University of California Irvine. His skills and project experience include demographic analysis, greenspace management, program development and implementation, leadership development, and the planning and execution of outreach programs that support grassroots decision making. He has brought his lived experience to his outreach work for

    Alondra Gateway Park, Lower LA River Pocket Park in Cudahy, Safe Clean Water Program Outreach in Central and South Santa Monica Watersheds, and Century Gateway Park in Watts.
